Job Title: Building Deconstruction Crew Member - Short Term in Ronan and Charlo, MT

Hours:  Monday through Thursday, 7:30a-5:30p. 40 hours a week

Location: Ronan and Charlo, MT

Duration: Up to twelve weeks. Starting as early as May 26, 2026

Start Pay: $25 an hour

Job Description: Heritage Timber is deconstructing two large wood buildings for reuse. Work is from ground to up to the top of the third floor and roof, removing materials with strategic hand tools and muscles. Involves a lot of bending and prying, as well as carrying and sorting of materials. You must have good work boots and appropriate clothing. We provide all other safety equipment and tools.

The job includes:

You must like to work hard in any type of weather, especially sun and heat, be able to lift 50 pounds, and work with hand and basic power tools for ten-hour days. You should have the strength and stamina to pry and hammer materials apart, while be detailed enough to protect material and work safely. The work includes taking buildings down from the top down and involves carefully salvaging materials, cutting, hammering, de-nailing, carrying, stacking and tallying, sweeping, using large magnets, etc. It will be a dirty job with dust and resulting dirt. Protective equipment will be provided. 

Great communication skills are vital. Applicants must be self-motivated to show up on time and work hard, be trustworthy and dependable, and want to learn.

Labor experience and comfort on a roof or with heights is necessary. Deconstruction or similar labor experience is preferred. Experience with tools like sawzall, circular saw, nail guns, etc. is very helpful.

This is hard, dirty, rewarding work.
